2. Register your business brand

To register your business brand in Nigeria, follow these steps that I followed when registering my Catherine business.

  • Choose a business name: in other to register your business, you need to be well disposed to any of the niches mentioned above. To do this, pick a unique and catchy name that represents your boutique and check if it is available and not already in use by another company.
  • Obtain a Tax Identification Number (TIN): The next step is to register your business with the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) to obtain a TIN.
  • Register with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC): Register your business as a sole proprietorship, partnership, or limited liability company with the CAC.
  •  You will need to provide your TIN and business name as part of the registration process.
  • Obtain a business permit or license: Contact your local government to obtain the necessary business permit or license to operate your boutique.
  • Register for Value-Added Tax (VAT): Register your business for VAT with the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) if you expect your annual turnover to be above the VAT threshold.
  • Open a business bank account: Open a business bank account in the name of your boutique to keep your personal and business finances separate.

3. Find the right location for your boutique
